We regard teaching as an important tool to shape the next generation of researchers as well as ourselves.
To this end, Dr. Thorn and her group have delivered a number of lectures to students of computer science, games engineering, physics, nano science, chemistry, biochemistry and bioinformatics at the universities of Goettingen, Cambridge, Wuerzburg, as well as Hamburg, and continues to do so.
This currently includes:
Winter semester:
Lecture “Grundlagen der Strukturanalyse” [M.Sc. Bioinformatics (67-112), Universität Hamburg, materials available via Moodle]
Module “Anthropogene Unfälle in der Physik” [winter semester,M.Sc. Physics (66-674), Universität Hamburg, materials available via Moodle]
Lecture “Physik für Biologen” [B.Sc. Biology (PHY-BBIO-02), Universität Hamburg, materials available via Moodle]
Summer semester:
Biomolecular Structure Solution I [M.Sc. Physics (PHY-MV-BP-E08), Universität Hamburg, materials available via Moodle]
“Nanoherbstschule” [B.Sc. Nanoscience (PHY-N-H), Universität Hamburg, materials available via Moodle]
Module “Biomedical physics II” [M.Sc. Physics (PHY-MV-BP-E02), Universität Hamburg, materials available via Moodle]
Dr. Thorn is lecturing on a number of international courses each year, including:
She is a P.I. member Helmholtz Graduate School for the Structure of Matter and of the Graduate School of Life Sciences, Würzburg University, and qualifies regularly within the the certified university didactic qualification courses “ProfiLehrePlus” from the federal state of Bavaria.
