Philip has long had an enthusiasm for biological processes which is paired with an analytical understanding of the world. After having worked for a long time as a registered nurse in various fields, he first studied mathematics and finally nanosciences.
During a lecture series in preparation for a bachelor's thesis, he came into contact with protein crystallography and is now starting to delve deeper into this fascinating research area as a member of the Thorn Lab.
In his bachelor's thesis, which he is currently working on, he researches the influence of organic solvents in crystallographic structure determination.
